Classic Monsters

Thinking of Halloween, I started by choosing a quote from the song Spooky Scary Skeletons and laid down a beat and some dungeon sounds complete with whips and screams. I layered in the opening theme of Prokofiev's second violin concerto in g minor because it feels like something large slowly awakening from the bowels of somewhere dark. Because organ fugues are often used for haunted castles, I constructed an intro with Bach's little fugue for organ, also in g minor, but played on the violin to provide unity to the classical elements.
